I teach almost 800 students in an urban school district that has an incredibly diverse population. The students that come to my art room surprise me every day with their amazing talents and genuine love for the creative process.Many students do not have many opportunities to use materials like those I am asking for outside of this school. Legos, lincoln logs, and blocks seem like things everyone might have at home, but most of my kids do not have them and many do not even know what these materials are. I know that if my students were given the chance to have a relaxed and inviting space to create they would see their futures in art and architecture and engineering open up for them.

About my class
