My two art classrooms are the happy homes to my K-6 artists! Due to budgeting, I teach half the year at one school, then move to another for the remainder of the year- and because of an unfortunate schedule, it is laid out so my kiddos go a full year without seeing me! Because of these constraints, I try to pack as much as possible into our short time together. My students are over 85% Hispanic, and a very high number of them are English Language Learners. I'm lucky to have many bilingual students to assist me in translating. These students are coming off of a full year without art education, so they are extra excited when they come see me! Many of my art supplies were over 15 years old when I came into my classroom. Some were even from the 1970's! I try to squeeze every last drop out of them and use what I can to give my students as many opportunities to try new artistic techniques as possible.
