Students will be able to explore the world of color with the primary colors, black and white. Projects using paint are endless. The paint I have ask to be donated will be used to create an individually designed color wheel. The color wheels will incorporate the twelve hues and the tints and shades of those colors. My students will the create a monochromatic still life with the donated paint colors. The painting will be composed of fruit and vegetables. The students will learn the technique of blending white, grey and black to a hue to create different values. This will help them achieve the illusion of form and depth in the composition, The drawing pencils will give my students the opportunity to learn to use value in their drawings to create the illusion of form. The linoleum blocks will be used by the students to carve out images in the linoleum and make multiple prints of the image. I have students that want to come to school because of my Art class. Many students are visual learners and feel success in this type of learning environment. Learning the techniques and skills of the different media will give them a foundation to pursue careers in creative fields such as in game design.
