The projector I am requesting would provide many opportunities for engagement and learning in our visual arts classroom. All students in our school, from Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade, would benefit from a projector. Currently, I print black and white images and pass them around the room for students to discuss, or I pull up images on my laptop and give each table equal time to view. I want my students to be able to experience art together and have dialogue about works which are essential to know. Art touches and is touched by all aspects of life, and my students deserve to know about and see paintings, sculptures, photographs, and prints that will expand their perspectives about the world in which we live and strengthen their cultural capital. When my curious students have questions or desire to learn more about a particular artist or work of art, I want to be able to immediately respond and provide the images to them. I truly believe a projector would further enrich their aesthetic experiences in our studio space.
