Welcome to the new age. Welcome to an animation studio where a student’s work comes to life. In my art classroom we have used paper and pencil, digital cameras, and simple Stop-Animation apps to create 3-10 second videos of students work much like the early cartoonists at Disney in the early 1950’s. Today I am looking forward to teaching the students with cutting edge technology at their fingertips, literally; with the addition of a class set of 6 animation tablets for my classroom. These tablets work the same as paper and pencil, but with a world of possibilities waiting to be explored in the included software and our students’ creativity. All students in our upper grades, 3rd through 5th Grade, will have the opportunity each year to learn, practice, and grow their artistic abilities and even unlock a new passion in their lives through self-expression all from this simple idea of Animating Our Future.
