My kids are active little people that are learning how to do many things for the first time, such as read and play kindly. I want to give them a variety of different books to read, fiction and nonfiction and historical and contemporary, to teach them different lessons and show them what is possible in the world. They can read books like "Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns Good Sportsmanship" and then try out those lessons outside at recess! Although there are times when my kids need to be sitting to do some active work, I would love to provide them with wobble chairs and wiggle cushions to help them focus and keep them moving! I also lead activities for them to play at recess. They do not have a play structure/play ground so I wanted to give them different materials (burlap sacks, jump ropes, a parachute) so we can play a plethora of different games where they can learn how to talk to one another, show good sportsmanship, learn how to work together, and just have fun with each other. After all, they are active 6- to 8-year-olds!
