The materials in my request are not supervilous or extraordinary. Rather they are of the basic nature and necessary for my students to be welcomed into a long school journey that communicates competence and preparedness. Help us document our learning! We need writing and illustrating supplies to journal our way through the year. We need crayons and pencils for writing and illustrating. We need paper to create our books and journals and glue to make collage illustrations. We need phonics and math manipulatives to assist us in writing literacy and math stories in our journals. We need dry erase materials for us to practice our writing. The presence of these eager and bright 5 and 6 year olds require us to provide high quality and essential materials. Please help me communicate to my students that while we are in an economically distressed educational environment we value their classroom experience.
