My school is a high needs one in a community of low-income and unemployed families. I came up with an innovative way to motivate our students and increase parent involvement. With the new Common Core Standards, our focus is shifting towards having each grade level focus on a major area. In math, Grade's 3 focus is multiplication. Grades 4 and 5 focus is fractions. To get students motivated and parents to become more actively involved in their child's education, we decided to host a Math Jeopardy Competition for Grades 3-5. This will be held from Tuesday, May 28th - Thursday, May 30th, 2013 at PS/IS 41. We are hoping to use a math interactive software. This will allow students to see that math can be fun even through a game show (same as JEOPARDY on TV)! We would love our donors to help support this project and let the students and parents know that they are not alone! We thank our donors.
