The lack of headphones with microphones limit the Spanish language development students make. Students have access to a computer lab with language building software that was purchased by the school; however, without the headphones to facilitate the listening and speaking activities, language fluency potential will not be reached. Also, when trying to practice the language the students sometimes become embarrassed when mispronouncing words or become distracted by each other. It is important that they feel comfortable practicing the language with room to make errors. Therefore, headphones with microphones would help them tremendously to accelerate their fluency in Spanish. It also gives them pride to see their teachers working hard to get them the resources they need to learn and take their coursework more seriously. Learning a second and third language is a skill that will make them more marketable in today's competitive and diverse workforce.
