We are a charter school in California, but we are not just a school, we are a community, a family! I have worked in education, either as a sub, student teacher, tutor, or teacher for over 10 years. Most of my time has been in inner city schools with a predominate low socioeconomic, second language population. I struggled, I sometimes cried, but loved every minute of teaching and working with those kids! I know find myself in a new world of teaching... a community that has come together. I community of not only teachers, but classified staff (that really are the heart of any school!), students, and parents. I am still learning what it means to teach in a community, to not have to do it all by yourself, but what I have learned, is their is NO OTHER WAY. It takes a community to raise and teach a child, this school, my school, our school, we are raising and teaching the future!
