The 5th graders at BWE are self-motivated, respectful, and hardworking. This year the 5th grade hosted the school's first ever Family Fitness Night. Family Fitness Night allowed families from BWE to enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, and dance. Professionals from the community came to the event to teach Zumba, do health screenings, and show families how to be healthy together at home. The students helped fill the local food pantry at Christmas, and won the school's annual Jump Rope for Heart contest. The students are now working hard, participating in a local Andrew Luck Change the Play program. Our class has also joined with the local sanitation department to create a composting unit. The students started the compost at the beginning of the year. They must maintain the compost all year long, and at the end of the year we will use their compost to plant flowers. The 5th grade is excited to create healthy habits, and be the best they can be inside and out.
