My students are some of the kindest you could find in the school. They are the lowest performing with regard to reading but they come to my room everyday willing to work hard to overcome the struggles they face with reading to find success. Through support my students build their confidence to try their best always and to use a variety of strategies to help them read with accuracy and comprehend the text. My students are from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and many of their homes do not have computers for them to use. Every year I work with a different group of students and every year they surprise me with their eagerness to work and the respect they give to the teachers in the building.
