Having these electronic tablets will allow my students to engage their fine motor muscles easily and conveniently throughout the day using a variety of writing tools, from their fingers to pencils and styluses! Not only will this help them master their handwriting skills, it will also allow them to practice other crucial prekindergarten skills such as following directions.
From emotions to the alphabet, students will be more engaged by not only hearing and seeing the objective, but also doing it! For example, if I am doing a lesson (whole group, small group or individual) on happy and sad, I can show students a happy and sad face, we can discuss what it means to be happy and sad, then they could draw their very own happy and sad faces to wrap up the lesson. This would give them full ownership in the intended lesson. The tablets would also be an asset to have for free-choice time to allow the students to easily express anything on their mind through words and or pictures!
