My students are very active third graders. They come from impoverished families, families who barely have time to spend with their children because they work so much trying to make ends meet. Many of these families also do not speak much English and as a consequence the students have difficulty grasping concepts due to a deficiency in their English language. Playing board games is not something that most of these families have time for or even know about. I feel it is unfair to deny these children the opportunities that other American children have.
