I teach freshmen students who are always creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They love to be in groups with hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions, and I love to incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! However, our current seating options do not allow this to occur comfortably every day. Our current desks do not fit well together for group work and struggle to accommodate each student individually. With clover-shaped tables, the possibilities will be endless for creating groups and activities for my students to engage in with their peers, while the rocker chairs will allow my students to be completely comfortable in their learning environment. Additionally, the tables can be joined together for the ultimate classroom discussion. With new seating options, my students will have more opportunities to engage with and learn alongside their peers.
