My students enjoy reading, but often lack interest in some of the titles read within the curriculum. My goal is to provide some variety and give students the option to join “book clubs” by offering different titles that deal with issues of race and equality in addition to those titles we read in our core curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with group mates on a digital platform if we are in a distance-learning setting. This will help me to meet with students on a smaller scale, so that we can have those most valuable book discussions, in the classroom or out.
