4th graders are inquisitive and hilarious, bright and brilliant, compassionate and empathetic. At our immersion school, they study core subjects in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Moreover, they engage in hands-on, projects-based learning, as students of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP). As their teacher, I hope to nurture my students' growth as bilingual, diplomatic stewards of an ever-connected global community. I feel it my responsibility to create a classroom environment- full of wonderful, high quality books- that will assist my students in developing greater intercultural understanding and respect for others. In the past, I have taught early childhood, specifically Kindergarten-2nd. As I venture into 4th grade this year, I am eager to create a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate for older students, and I need all the help I can get!
