Our current sensory room is lacking equipment that the students need to regulate their bodies. Much of the materials we have are damaged or broken. Unfortunately, sensory toys and equipment are expensive and outside of our program's budget. When my students are given access to the equipment and materials they need, they are able to better regulate their bodies and participate in the general education curriculum more effectively. Students in the program are given sensory breaks periodically throughout their day. During these breaks, they are able to rock, spin, jump, squish to give their body what it needs before returning to learning. In addition, the program also needs more speech and language materials in order to target the children's specific goals ans areas of need.
