My students are all either blind or visually impaired with additional disabilities. The population of children at my school is overwhelmingly from low income families. The school is located in a large urban area of California. Our students ride the bus to and from school and almost all of them receive a free breakfast and lunch. All reading materials that are used in the classroom need to be adapted with tactile materials (for illustrations) and large print or braille in order for them to be accessible to my students. We have a shortage of good books that can be read for enrichment.
