My classroom consists of 13 second graders who are eager to learn. They love to be read to and love to hold books in their hands. They enjoy being challenged and engaging in hands-on activities. We are a low socially economic school and all of our students eat free lunch. We have a culture at school of a small family which bonds closely. We foster positive attitudes about our students and help students believe in themselves. My students are most grateful for even the smallest of things they receive. Having the chance to provide each student with materials that will reinforce their learning would be of great benefit to the students as well as myself.
