I strive to provide a multidisciplinary approach to educating my students through manipulatives, visuals, auditory stimulation, and technology. Unfortunately, the presence of technology in my ESE classrooms is weak. My goal is to improve student communication abilities by utilizing a variety of evidence-based apps on the iPad (ie. Articulation Station, Proloquo2go, SuperDuper Publications). With the iPad I would be able to accommodate all of the students I service with the applications that I download on the device. In addition, this device will last many years to come with an endless affect on children communicating in the coming years. Technology does NOT have to be a bad thing for the upcoming generation if we are able to teach how to use technology, and how to use this benefit those who need special education services.
