My students love using technology in my math classroom. Through a small local grant, I received a partial set of Chromebooks at the beginning of the school year. Unfortunately, it is not enough for all of my students to use a Chromebook at the same time, so we cannot truly be 1:1 in my classroom. Because we are in a rural area, most of my students do not have their own devices to use and do not have access to any connectivity at home. I want to provide all my students with rich learning opportunities at school using technology so they can be better prepared for the future.
Completing my classroom set of Chromebooks will allow me to give ALL my students access to materials and technology-based projects that will boost their problem-solving abilities. With limited resources, we don't even have textbooks, but being able to provide all my students with a Chromebook at the same time will allow me to distribute information to them equally. In addition, we will be able to complete challenging technology-based math projects using online graphing utilities as well as some of their favorite fun review activities where they get to compete against each other online.
