With each unit of study, students will build their personal math notebooks. This will serve as a platform for organizational lessons and also serve as an organizational tool. They are creating a resource of mathematical concepts and skills that they have studied. It will be a reference as students are able to track ways that mathematical concepts intertwine. It also serves as a way for students to track their goals and assess their progress. I have done similar projects in the past and the students loved having a finished product reflecting all they have done. The dry erase markers will be used with individual white boards for practice and problem solving.
