I teach in an inner city public school on the South Side of Chicago. There are 454 students enrolled at RUIZ. 82.4% are Low Income Students. 15.9% are Diverse Learners. 33% are Limited English Learners. Our resources are very limited, CPS gives teachers minimal funding for classroom resources or supplies, and teachers spend their own money for classroom materials from paper and ink to furniture and decor. I strive for my students to thrive academically, but year after year our funding is cut more and more. I can enrich with more difficult assignments, but need to balance the scales for these kids who are struggling. With YOUR donations I can provide enrichment activities for my more advanced students as well as more basic experiences for those who need the support. Thank you for considering donating to us!
