"Tell me and I forget.Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."-Benjamin Franklin I am a Kindergarten teacher to a remarkable, loving, confident, hard working group of students who come to school each day ready to learn and take on new challenges. While some start Kinder with prior exposure to school; there are those whom Kinder is their first experience in school. Kindergartners grow so much; physically, emotionally, and academically. It is expected they become independent problem solvers and apply critical thinking skills by the end of the year! Not to forget the small lessons of tying shoes, sharing, and making friends! They understand number sense involves more than recognizing the number itself. They learn they can put letters and sounds together to make words they can read. Learning is best when they are involved in fun and engaging activities! Kindergarten is the foundation; help make it a strong one!
