Last year I used four tablets for 22 students in my classroom. To complete one assignment (MobyMax/Accelerated Reading, etc.) it took a huge amount of time to complete. The donations for my project will enable my students to concentrate on their assignments and not rush through them, so the next students can use the tablets to complete their assignments. Using technology in my classroom will enable my students to become more knowledgeable in this fast pace technological world. Students will use the requested tablets on a daily basis in various ways. Our reading program contains many literacy activities that students will engage in during center time. My school district has purchased MobyMax and Accelerated Reading programs which students are so excited about! Using these tablets will allow more students to use these programs to promote literacy, increase student achievements, and reinforce skills that have been taught in the classroom. Students will also use the tablets to research materials for class assignments, to complete computer based assessments (Social Studies Weekly), and engage in educational games such as Kahoot!. The document camera will enable me to display various items for students to increase classroom discussion and engagement.
