My students are gifted and talented and need to be pushed to explore their talents. Currently, they are very interested in using the Lego Mindstorm Ev3 kits to build and program small robots. We currently have a few kits that are very old and missing pieces. I must limit the number of students that can participate in robot building and programming projects because we do not have enough kits. By having a new kit, more of my students would be able to participate in the fun of building and programming their robot. A new kit would also allow my students to be able to download the programs to their robots quicker. In addition, they would also have the pieces needed to create different robots with more complex capabilities. Having these kits will allow them to explore their creative side while learning valuable team building, socialization, and computer programming skills. Having another Lego Mindstorm Ev3 kits could lead my students to a new hobby, or possibly set the ground work for a future in a STEM career.
