My classroom is a place to feel safe and maybe learn a thing or two that you didn't know before you came in. Here, we are researchers, philosophers, authors, artists, and even scientists. In literature you have to be willing to put yourself out there in order to understand characters and feel an emotional connection to their story. My students are eager to learn and want to find creative way to do it. They have a need to move and want to be able to work collaboratively with their fellow classmates. Reading has become "lame" or mundane. It is my job to make it the cool thing to do again.
