My students are VERY eager and excitable, considering they have never had much hands-on science. They live in a high poverty area and go to an inner city school in Texas. About 50% of my students speak Spanish and even though I do not, I know the experiences they have in my classroom break all language barriers. I only teach science labs and they only come to me once a week, yet most of their journal entries in their homeroom classes are about how much they love science lab.
