Our classroom is completely empty of books. Students need to be surrounded by literature in order to grow up and have an appreciation for reading. It would be ideal to have a space in our classroom where they can select a book of their liking. Unfortunately, we only get to go to the school library once a week for 25 minutes and it doesn't give students enough time to browse the books and there is a limited selection for the lower grades. It would be nice if we could get grade level sets since I teach Kindergarten through third grade. Students will benefit from this resource because they can sign out for the books and use them for book reports and practice with their reading. At the moment students don't have any books in my room to use at resource material. This would improve their fluency and reading comprehension skills.
