This will be my first year teaching and donations will provide students with the basic tools needed to succeed in 5th grade as the first day of school begins! Math manipulatives, like the color tiles and fraction bars, will be used daily and will encourage these young mathematicians to visualize the math problems and concepts. The whiteboards and clipboards will be used daily and will provide students with the opportunity to work through and draw out problems and ideas on their own. The seat sacks will provide the students with much needed storage as they are working in table groups in a small classroom. The rugs will provide the reading nook to be inviting and comfortable to encourage reading in a stress-free environment. Supplies such as binders, notebooks. folders, pencils, pens, erasers, glue, scissors will ensure that each student has the materials needed. This will relieved a lot of pressure on families as many are low-income households.
