I have a variety of students that I teach. And that's just how I like it. I am here to attempt to make a change and have a positive effect on someone's life. Guess what? I have acutally seen it happen! I love what I do, and I think my students are well aware of this! Most of my students have not had past successes, but I make sure to find someway to have each of them learn how to be a winner! Most of the population falls below poverty level, and many students do not have their parents to rely on for academic help, mostly because there is a high population of immigrants-many of them are not native speakers of English, the neighborhood is ridden with gang activity and other crime, and the teen pregnancy rate is extremely high. Although I frequently encounter a resistance to learning, I know that they always walk away with something!
