My students love hearing stories read aloud, but most of our books only relate to the lives of a small portion of my classroom. I want my students to see how the stories I share with them relate to their own lives. All children deserve to see their own likenesses represented in the books they read. Students with different abilities, skin colors, cultures, and family makeups can be found in the walls of my school. Adding these books to my class library will help them see that they all add value to our classroom, school, and the world.
