The magazines I have selected will be used in an RTI class that focuses on developing reading skills. The magazines are captivating and timely and have proven helpful in raising my students scores and improving their reading skills in previous years. If my class is gifted with these texts, my students will have high-interest texts at their fingertips to use each day in class. Students will be reading these books and magazines each day in class in independent reading time and reflecting on their own and in conferencing with other students and the teacher. Since we are using Reader's Workshop starting this year, we need as many texts as possible from which they can choose.
