The ALE students at SSE are leading out in building an outdoor classroom area for the whole school to enjoy. The students have built the seating and teaching area, and now they are working on building raised gardens for each grade level, Pre-K through 5th grade, at school. We are in need of a storage shed to keep our shovels, water hoses, planters, gloves, and other gardening and outdoor learning equipment. My students are enjoying giving back to the school and it is building their confidence as they see the fruits of their labor. I have noticed since we started the outdoor classroom project, that my student's academics have improved and their behavior at school has changed for the better.
