Hello and welcome to Ms. Knight's kindergarten classroom. Our classroom is filled with many diverse learners. The children in my class are learning important social skills needed to be a successful student. We are learning how to use kind words as well as take turns sharing. The students in my class are from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. This year, my students are in need of more than just learning reading, writing, and math skills. They are in desperate need of learning how to share, take turns, and use language skills to tell others what they need. The best way to learn these critical skills is through productive play! I have made been fortunate enough to incorporate a time throughout our week for the students to explore through play.
