The Kindergarten students in my classroom are full of curiosity and joyful at each discovery they make. Our Science instructional time is facilitated in Spanish, as part of a Dual Language program. Since many of the students are not native Spanish speakers, hands-on activities are an essential part of every lesson. Once a week, we tend to our classroom garden and frequently harvest and eat our produce, fresh picked. Our classroom theme is the Sun. I call the students rays of sunshine and use metaphors to compliment them for being helpful as the sun is helpful by giving life to many things on Earth.
