I teach middle school Family and Consumer Science. Much of what I teach is hands on learning. However, because my classroom does not have a set of computers I feel I am missing the mark for my visual learners. Technology has developed many visual learners in this generation. By making computers available to my classroom I can incorporate lessons that help my visual learners grasp concepts in the way they learn best. For example, when they are learning about basic budgeting skills I can provide digital lessons that are interactive and help them see how variables within their life can affect their budget. I can also provide more interactive games and engaging lessons for review purposes. I like to teach using a great deal of differentiation. By adding computers to my classroom this would help me pull in my visual learners to help them grasp the concepts they are struggling with.
