There has been a significant amount of research done on the effects of a student's movement in the classroom being directly correlated to their ability to stay focused and pay attention. I would love to have a variety of seating options for my students. They would be able to use these as needed at their desks, at small group time, during whole group learning, as well as during collaborative work time. Allowing different seating options, such as wobble chairs, will give my students opportunities to move while they are working. Wobble chairs require student balance, engaging their core and in turn, the alert system in their brain. These chairs will allow my students to stay focused while getting the wiggles out at the same time!
