An important component of the AVID class is for students to participate and engage in Tutorials. During tutorials, students work in collaborative groups to help each other with class work that they are struggling with. A big part of the tutorials process is students need to present to their group members the problem or question they need help on. They use the board to show and explain to their peers their tutorial question. This practice helps our students gain confidence when speaking in front of others, improve their presentation skills and develop academic vocabulary when speaking among their group members. These boards are essential.
