Reading is essential in third grade as the students slowly move towards reading to learn. Students participate in small group instruction with me everyday. I meet with four to five students to read books at their reading level providing targeted reading instruction that meets each individual student needs. This table will allow me to easily lean in to each individual student permitting me to listen to them read. The cozy, inviting environment will help my students want to read with the teacher. Reading instruction is vital in third grade and students will be successful in the future if they are good readers.
