In our classroom we have built an emphasis on the importance of literacy and the key that it holds to opening up doors to hidden wonders for us. With our new classroom library we will be able to explore fiction and non-fiction stories. We do have a school library, but my students are limited to one book selection per week and I feel that is not enough exposure to the amazing literature we have out in the world. With our new library, students will have access to new books on a daily basis that are developmentally appropriate for them. Each student is unique in their skills and challenges. The leveled library will give students the opportunity to select books at a level that meets their literary and literacy needs.
