Books transport you to new places, help you empathize other viewpoints and see life through others' eyes. They should act as windows and mirrors. "A mirror is a story that reflects your own culture and helps you build your identity. A window is a resource that offers you a view into someone else’s experience. It is critical to understand that students cannot truly learn about themselves unless they learn about others as well." Help fund books for my classroom library that act as windows and mirrors, and will continue my students' love of reading! We do not have a library at our school so it's crucial to have a robust classroom library. These books include popular and recommended titles for grade 3, books that inspire my students, and books with diverse characters and themes. I added a few that we already have but are in constant demand so every child has the opportunity to read what excites them.
