Teaching first grade is the best job I could have ever imagined getting. I get to love on the little scholars and help them learn and grow educationally and as a whole. First grade is a lot different from kindergarten. First, you lose developmental centers at the end of the day. The curriculum is more intense and we have a long way to grow in just one short year. These sweet children are lucky enough to get a morning and an afternoon recess along with a rotation of specials and multiple brain breaks through the day. Even with ALL of that these sweet babies have trouble sitting still on the carpet and at their desk. This project will help my students to be able to learn/focus while still being able to move. I would like to buy some flexible seating for my classroom that would include balance ball chairs for some of my students to use at their desks, wobble stability seating for the carpet, wobble chairs for my horseshoe table (where I teach small group), and lap desks for students to use around the room. I want to be able to give my students the choice of where to sit that will help them learn at their highest ability. All we need is your help! Love, Miss Kelly and 16 first graders!
