Our classroom is very small. We have to be very creative and efficient with how we use our space. Having a table to sit at for group lessons would help improve our focus and posture. Sitting close to the teacher while learning to read will help students stay engaged and comfortable during lessons. This table will be a central meeting spot for learning in our classroom. Over time, educators have moved from a "sage on the stage" style of teaching to student-centered, personalized instruction methods. Strong reading skills set the foundation for learning across a child’s entire academic career. Students come to my classroom with a wide range of reading abilities. It is crucial that they receive targeted, differentiated reading instruction. My goal is to make sure I am effectively meeting the needs of every single child in my class through small group guided reading lessons. Group learning encourages students to develop many social skills as we grow within our community. I would love to have a dedicated space where I can encourage them to reach their goals.
