My students are some of the most talented people I have ever met. It is hard to see them as just students, because they are well-rounded and so smart in many different ways. Often, the students will spend more hours at the school than some teachers. They willingly come to school early and stay late to get involved and get the help they need. My students are unique in their talents in that they do not need remediation. In fact, they could tutor their peers and be just as helpful as a teacher. Instead, my students are craving enrichment. Many teachers focus only on their low-level learners, because their high learners will always achieve. I don't want them just to achieve, I want them to succeed in every sense. I want to provide my gifted students with the tools they need to go above and beyond their peers. Some will be the next innovative doctor, scientist, writer, engineer, or whatever they dream. I want to give them a boost up instead of a step down from their goals.
