We are a Title I inner city public school located in California. Our school is in a high poverty neighborhood where 90.2% of the students qualify for Free or Reduced meals. We are one of 20 schools within the school district. Our school serves 876 students K-6. The 876 students are comprised of 88% Hispanic/Latino, 5.9% Asian, 1.5% White (non-Hispanic) and 3.8% other ethnicity. Fifty percent of our students are English Language learners (ELL). Most parents speak little or no English, but want their children to be successful in school. My students enjoy coming to school and being part of a great learning community. They have creative imaginations and dream of going on magic carpet rides where they can be, and do, the impossible.
