Kindergarteners love to do everything with their hands. Using manipulatives, will help them open their minds (and hands) to imagine, explore and create. Children learn and benefit greatly through imaginative play, and an engaged learning environment. By integrating S.T.E.M and using these tools kindergarteners will begin to boost their critical thinking skills, work on problem solving and draw strong connections to what they are learning. I have watched students become engaged and creative when provided the opportunity to play with items like, Lego's, Brain Flakes, and Playmags. The endless benefits of exploration materials would encourage students to push themselves to become more innovative. Students will interact creatively with others in small groups, discuss ideas, discover their sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around them.
