My class consists of eight students who all have a diagnosis of Autism. My entire class is non-verbal or has very limited verbal skills. These smart and enthusiastic children have so much they want to say, but they just can't communicate. Their parents rely on me, their teacher, to communicate what we are studying, where their child needs to grow, what their child is good at, as well as daily communication about how their day went. My students can't get in the car and tell their parents what they are studying or the cool things they saw in science lab. My students are experiencing and learning about the world while at school, but they are unable to share these cool things with their parents.
