I am a Literacy Coach in a school that currently serves K - 2, and eventually will grow to 5th grade. RYCS is an inner city charter school that opened in 2015. Our little ones crave the ability to read a wide variety of books. They know readers are leaders and leaders go to college! Currently, we are lacking the resource of leveled books to use in small group instruction. I think it is incredibly important to provide our students with books of different reading levels and genres to use in the classroom as an aid to their everyday learning experience. This will increase their ability to become more fluent readers and successful scholars overall.
